The North East of Italy was one of the poorest areas in the country until the second world war, a land of hunger and emigrants.
As there were no big industries, the only alternatives in the post-war period were emigration or starting up a business. This is the reason why thousands of small businesses were established and in many cases these have become over the years well-known success in the industry world, just to name a few Benetton, Campagnolo, Luxottica, Dainese.
Hard work, determination, attention to quality and service are the values that have made the North East of Italy one of the most productive areas in the world.
Francom Spa, parent company of the Syncro Group, was founded in the 50’s by Francesco Comunello. Living in a poor family, he was forced to give up to his study since there was no chance for his family to pay for it. Francesco made the most of it and used his perseverance and capability to make his own way: first he was a bicycle mechanic, than worked as subsidiary in metal industry and finally he launched his own agricultural equipment.
It is easy to understand how difficult was setting up a business whit a few money and no education: the determination, cleverness and will power made this possible.
When the demand for agricultural tools in the 70’s was decreasing, the company moved to the metal tool boxes business and became one of the European leading company.
After the sad loss of its founder in a car accident in 1982, the company was taken over by his children and wife. Luca, current President of Syncro Group, was only 19 years old when started to run the company together with the rest of the family. Today the company is still solely owned by the Comunello family.
Starting from 1996, the company has focused in manufacturing storage systems for LCVs and has become one of the major player in the European market.
